COLOR CODE & DIRECTION: snakes with moldable clay

Presentation: in small groups

Material: A4 paper sheets – moldable dough or Dido pasta

The teacher draws lines of different colours with markers (red-blue-yellow-green) in different directions on a billboard hanging on the wall, which acts as an evidence and a trace. Here are some written examples based on the level of difficulty:

Every child has moldable clay (Dido-pongo-salted dough-corn dough) of the same colour of the markers used by the teacher, with which he/she has to make many little snakes to reproduce/copy the same code written on the billboard.

Once every child has successfully made what the teacher wrote, roles can be inverted: the child becomes programmer and invents codes that his/her mates must copy.
